How to land your dream job easily

If you are looking for a job, or a new job you need to start by carrying out a self-analysis and reflect on the following. What are your career goals? What are your short term and long-term objectives? What are your key strengths and weaknesses? Then, carry out an external analysis. What are the opportunities out there? What industry or industries do you fit into or can your skills-set be tailored to? What companies are currently recruiting?

You subsequently need to brand yourself excellently in preparation for applications. Personal branding involves crafting an excellent CVCover Letterand LinkedIn profile that recruiters will be attracted to.

Your CV is a summary of who you are. It can be used to market and promote your personal brand to employers and recruiters. Besides having a well-crafted CV, it is particularly important to have a brilliant Cover Letter which explains (in a narrative format) why you are a good fit for the role you are applying for. In other words, getting the Cover Letter right is as important as getting the CV right. As the saying goes, behind every great CV is a fantastic Cover Letter. So, your job applications should always include a Cover Letter unless the job advert says otherwise.

LinkedIn has become a popular talent hunting place for companies, recruiters, and head-hunters. The number one activity on LinkedIn is viewing profiles, so you need to craft a profile that stands out and attract potential employers.

You will also need to prepare for interviews once invited. To stand a chance at excelling and landing your dream job, you need to research the organisation, research the industry, research the role, sell yourself excellently, smile and relax, back up your answers with examples, and make sure your breath is  fresh , mouth odour has the tendency to piss off your interviewer or interviewers.

You are this close to landing your dream job. Don’t let anything stop you!
